Little-Leaf Alumroot (Heuchera parviflora)

This plant is characterized by a flower spike rising from a basal rosette of rounded leaves. The flower is mostly green with a yellowish inside, but includes a few pathetic-looking white petals.

Mountain Alumroot, Coralbells (Heuchera sp.)

I learned Mountain Alumroot as coralbells. Characteristics of this plant (besides its love of thin soil on top of bedrock) include stalks with small pinkish flowers on the upper halves, emerging from low mats of lobed rounded leaves. Two species with pink flowers are present in the local area. Heuchera rubescens occurs widely in the mountains of the West, while H. pulchella is apparently confined to the Sandias and Manzanos. I haven't found an easy way to tell them apart, so will leave my ID at the genus level.
